Van Schoick Benefit Bash 2009

Welcome to the Van Schoick family fundraiser website. Our names are Robbi and Rebecca Van Schoick. We have the disease Friedreich's ataxia, a rare, genetic, neurodegenerative, multi-system, life-shortening disorder. Its symptoms incude muscle weakness, vision, hearing and speech problems, diabetes and heart conditions. About one in 50,000 people in the United States has Friedreich's ataxia.

The Georgia Benefit Bash 2009 was as fun and successful as ever. We had a wonderful golf tournament and party afterwards on May 15 at The Georgia Club, just outside of Athens. As of June 1st money is still coming in and we will soon have a final figure. Once again, we thank Med-Pharmex Animal Health and Performance Awards Center for being our event sponsors.

We are very happy to report that our 2008 fundraisers, the Georgia Benefit Bash and Golf Tournament in May and the Lone Star Benefit Bash Golf Tournament in Texas were also great successes. We raised over $130,000 for research! Each and every dollar will go directly to finding out more about Friedreich's ataxia and bring closer the day when no child will have to live with this disease.

Mark your calendar for October 9, 2009 the date of the Lone Star Benefit Bash Golf Tournament at The Golf Club at Castle Hills in Lewisville, Texas, near Dallas. For reservations or information on becoming a sponsor, please see contact information.
